We drove out to see Dave’s family and celebrate his grandmother’s birthday. Stayed with family and ate dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, Sierra. We visited Estes Park, went on a train ride through Idaho Springs, and drove through the Continental Divide.
Spent the 4th of July in norther Michigan and stayed in Traverse City. We stayed at a hotel on the beach and enjoyed jet skiing, hiking up Sleeping Bear Dunes, local dining and shopping, and the amazing fireworks show on the bay!
Our first family trip to Ann Arbor and had a really great trip! Stayed at a hotel by the mall and spent several days enjoying the town. We toured the University of Michigan, visited the Museum of Natural History, and ate at several amazing local restaurants.
After a rather quiet 2020 at home, we drove out to see Dave’s family in Colorado. We visited Trail Ridge Pass and the headwaters of the Colorado River, saw many moose and elk, and spent lots of quality time with our family.
The big trip! We flew to San Diego and stayed at a cozy beachside condo in Pacific Beach. The list of attractions we saw included Disneyland, the San Diego Zoo, and spent time playing in the ocean! We even had a chance to get some matching tattoos!
Our first family Michigan football game! The kids were super excited to see the team play. Aeres got to see Aiden her favorite player up close, and we cheered the team to victory. Even had a chance to visit Zingerman’s Roadhouse and try their awesome chili!
Our 2022 road trip back east started by visiting Erica’s family in Lewisburg, West Virginia. We enjoyed the time spent with the family on the farm! We saw a great 4th of July parade, played with the cows, went kayaking on a lake, and enjoyed our time catching up with all of the family!
When planning our trip to West Virginia, we noticed we were close to the Atlantic Ocean, so we found a cozy little beach town to visit – Rehoboth Beach. It did not disappoint! We ate some amazing seafood, shopped all over the boardwalk, played in the ocean, and even saw dolphins swimming the morning we left.
The third leg of our almost 3,000 mile journey was Washington D.C. We did a fast tour of the city and all it has to offer. We toured the Space Museum in Chantilly, US Capital, Washington Monument, and the Smithsonian to name a few. Touring the monuments at night was the highlight of the trip!
